Consent Banner, Privacy Center, & Floating Button Updates, Customizable Fonts, Branded Theme, Data Mapping Updates, and Other Fixes & Enhancements.

Consent Banner, Unified Privacy Center, & Floating Button Updates

  • The user facing Consent Banner, Privacy Center, and Floating Button were rearchitected to allow for a number of additional customizations now and even more in the near future.
  • Font customization is included in this release, with multiple font options now available in the Branding section using web safe fonts with fallbacks. More details on that option can be found below.
  • A new "Brand" option was also added to the existing Light and Dark Consent Banner options. That new option now utilizes both your Primary and Secondary colors (using Secondary color as the background). See below for more details.
  • The new and improved architecture includes built-in css variable support that will be exposed later via additional css override options.
  • Bundle sizes and global caching were further optimized with this release as well.

With the new groundwork in place, we will also be releasing the following options soon:

  • A box/dialog option for the Consent Banner with location support (center, bottom left, top left, etc.).
  • Button and card shape/radius customization.
  • Theme selection for the Privacy Center (Light, Dark, and Brand).

Font Customization

We added new functionality to the Branding section within the Concord app that allows you to customize what font style is used on the Consent Banner, Privacy Center, and Floating Button. This aligns with our ongoing effort to ensure our tooling fits with your branding, while still being beautiful out of the box.

“Brand” Theme for Consent Banner

When customizing Concord’s Consent Banner, you now have the option to choose “Brand” as a Theme. Previous options that are still available include Light and Dark themes. When selecting Brand as the theme:

  • The Primary color is used in your Consent Banner, Privacy Center, and Floating Button for most of your custom branding (buttons, links, etc.).
  • The Secondary color is used as the background for the Consent Banner when using the new Brand theme.

You can select your brand’s Primary and Secondary colors by going to User Experiences,  Branding, and Colors & Font in the Concord Admin UI.

Data Mapping Enhancements

Most of our customers start with consent management, including the classification of trackers (cookies, scripts, iframes, etc.) prior to moving to Data Mapping. This is partially because Data Mapping isn’t always required for organizations of all sizes when it comes to compliance (usually 250+ employees in the case of GDPR), but regardless of company size, Data Mapping is a powerful tool that helps you better understand the data footprint across your organization while setting yourself up for easier compliance in the future as your company grows. This new release enables the Concord privacy and compliance team to quickly and easily add and edit globally available Data Systems within Concord, which will allow for quicker edits and additions. This includes:

  • Added new global Data Systems controls to make it easy for the Concord privacy and compliance team to manage to add and update global Data Systems without engineering support.
  • Added the ability to update the attributes per global Data System.
  • Added the ability to edit or add logos to local or global Data Systems.

With this update you will start seeing more regular additions to the list of Data Systems, but please let us know if there are any additional systems that you would like to see added. In addition to new Data Systems additions, our privacy and compliance team will also be adding default attributes to most of the existing Data Systems in the coming months, starting with many of the most popular systems on the market. This simplifies the Data Mapping process by utilizing the best practices expertise from our team that had primarily been used in the past during hands on client engagements.

To have a new Data System added to our list of preconfigured systems, email your request to support@concord.tech or send us a message via chat.

Other Fixes & Improvements

  • Further enhancements to Concord’s cookie logic to ensure we continue to lead the industry in automatic cookie and script tracking.
  • Added additional subdomain checks to site client domain checker used for links, images, etc.
  • Updated form styling in the Admin UI for better separation of sections and settings.
  • Updated the default button text on the Concord Consent Banner from “Decline all” to “Deny all”.
