Product Release: Expanded Tracker Scanning, Categorization, & Blocking Controls & Enhancements to DSAR Forms in Concord’s Privacy Center.

The latest Concord release includes expanded scanning, categorization, and blocking controls, making our best-in-class tracker engine even better at driving real compliance without the need for error prone custom code, enhancements to the DSAR forms in our Unified Privacy Center, and various other improvements and fixes.

Expanded Tracker Scanning, Categorization, & Blocking Controls

One of the primary goals when it comes to implementing a consent management platform is ensuring true compliance with ever evolving global data privacy laws. To help our customers meet that goal, Concord has always focused on providing the most powerful automatic tracker scanning, categorization, and blocking engine in the industry. There are unfortunately too many other consent products out there that are simply not compliant or that require numerous ongoing manual technical maintenance steps to stay compliant. This release exposes even more options to our customers and partners, allowing better insights into the automatic detection of different tracker types, while also providing additional advanced controls when needed. This includes:

  • Expanded Tracker Types: While we already detect and expose many more tracker types than the competition (including a larger list of cookies, scripts, and iframes), we have now expanded the full processing, categorization, and edit options for additional element types. This includes “image” elements and external resource “link” elements (typically used for stylesheets).
  • Flexible Controls: While we previously processed a select group of the expanded tracker types behind the scenes to deal with different data privacy regulations and rulings (like the Google fonts ruling in Germany in 2022), this enables those controls within Concord, making it easy to add automatic handling to any of those types of elements with no additional coding work required on your website(s).
  • Easier Compliance: This differs from most of the other consent management platforms in the industry, the majority of which require implementing and maintaining one-off custom code per image or link element, an error prone manual process that is easy to misconfigure and even harder to maintain.
  • Better Coverage: As with our other trackers controls, we prefer to err on the side of caution to make sure nothing falls between the cracks, so you will see a larger list of these items start to show up in your trackers/cookies & scripts table in Concord. We will automatically detect and classify known items that require consent, but many of the items will be marked as “ignored”, allowing you to ignore or classify items based on your requirements or with help from our export compliance team. As always, if you have any questions, reach out to our team. We are always here to help.
  • Best-in-Class Engine: Ultimately, we are proud to continue leading the pack when it comes to our best in class real-time auto scanning, categorization, and blocking engine. You should have confidence in your consent management platform and real compliance should be as easy as possible.

Enhancements to DSAR Forms in Concord’s Privacy Center

Concord made the following updates to the customer facing Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) forms in our Privacy Center to ensure we give requestors the option to only provide the minimal amount of personal information to process their requests.

  • Changed first name, last name, and phone to be optional in DSAR privacy requests forms.
  • Removed the delete confirmation popup on the Delete Data DSAR request form to ensure it is not interpreted as a dark pattern.
  • Updated Change Data DSAR form to be the only form to include the request details field.
